Case Study: 0.9T Boom Lift Counterweight

Blackwood has been working alongside an established supplier of work platforms based in the UK and across Europe for over 15 years.

Our team worked alongside the customer to develop a 0.9T Grey Iron Counterweight to be fitted on a self propelling boom lift.

Produced at one of our partner Far East foundries the counterweight was produced to fit the customers complex design and requirements.

Services we provided

Far East Partner Foundries

A foundry in India was utilised to produce this counterweight based on the material specification set out by the customer.

Custom Finishing

The counterweight was coated using a red oxide primer before being delivered to our UK facility. Once at our UK facility the counterweights are gloss painted in several colours to meet customers requirements.

Stillages Made To Order

For safe delivery from India to the UK bespoke stillages were created to fit the counterweight and minimise risk of potential damage in transit.

Inventory Management

The grey iron counterweight was produced in India and delivered to our UK base where Blackwood are responsible for the delivery and distribution to the customer on a JIT basis.
